Growing up at school, in social circles people often asked me, “What’s wrong with you?”
Sometimes it was mean kids. Other times, it was someone trying to show interest or curiosity. But curiosity, even when coming from a good place, can sometimes lead to hurtful questions.
You should ask first:
“Do you feel comfortable talking about life with disability?”
Before you dive into your questions, remember that it’s not just what you ask, but *how* and *when* you ask that matters.
Music is my outlet, my way to question and challenge others.
What’s it really like to be you?
You should grab the bull by the horns. Be direct, be respectful, but most of all, be ready to listen.
